Having a clear and clean creek begins with hard work! You can see the extraordinary amount of effort it takes to keep a creek flowing well and maintained properly. It is not an easy feat to remove years of debris, but that's what is necessary for having a functioning watershed. This helps keep the surrounding farmland safe from flooding and prevents crop loss. Contact us to find out how you can help.
In addition to farmland flooding control, we hope this will attract others to enjoy all the creek has to offer. Koshkonong Creek is a serene area that we hope will be enjoyed by citizens. Bring your kayaks and canoes and enjoy the beauty of nature. Fishing and birdwatching are just a couple of activities that can be enjoyed on the water. The City of Sun Prairie, the Towns of Deerfield and Cottage Grove, the nonprofit Friends of Koshkonong Creek, and Badger Farms, LLC came together to improve the Koshkonong Creek, an impaired waterway, and to implement a vision for sustaining the watershed for the next several decades. These groups applied to UniverCity Alliance's hallmark UniverCity Year program for 2021-24 to partner with UW-Madison campus courses on issues related to green infrastructure, engineering, communications, governance, and environmental conservation planning.
Your generous donations help us make a difference. Any contributions are greatly appreciated and help to further the efforts in restoring Koshkonong Creek. To contribute, please send checks to Badger Farms and reach out to us for more information on how to get involved.
